I want to try something different. But with simple ingredients.I want to make a tuna sandwich. Any special recipes?
There's two different recipes I use.

Tuna Sandwich

can of tuna, well drained ( I use Albertson's brand, its flaky, not mushy like Starkist tuna)

1 tablespoon dill pickle relish

1 teaspoon dijon mustard

a couple shakes of garlic powder

Mix together and spread on whole wheat bread. Add thinly sliced red onion, tomatoes, and romaine lettuce.

Spread dijon mustard on the top slice of bread before putting it on the sandwich.

My mom used to make the best tuna sandwiches - I would take them to school days in a row they were so good. She would add a little bit of grated carrot, some chopped onion and celery, mayo of course and a little bit of wine vinegar! I have also had it with a little bit of lemon juice, but I always liked the ';bite'; of the vinegar. She would use the tuna that was packed in olive oil, but I have made it many times with the one packed in water and it still was good. Add a little fresh ground pepper, some thinly sliced tomato, fresh romaine, on white toast (rye is also good) and . . . . yummy - I think I'll go make one now!!!
MAGIC TUNA FISH SALAD SANDWICHES

2 cans of tuna fish packed in water

1 bunch of green onions

3 jalapeno peppers

1 cup of bean sprouts

1 cup of fresh white mushrooms

1 medium tomato

several leaves of romaine lettuce

1 cucumber

3 tablespoons of mayonnaise (or if you're concerned about fat/calories use fat-free mayo)

parmesan or romano cheese (you can also top with sliced cheddar, monterey jack, pepper jack or muenster)

2- 4 slices of whole wheat bread

Chop the following ingredients into small pieces; green onions, mushrooms, set aside.

If you want a tuna sandwich that is totally different try tuna and peanut butter. Use Miracle Whip and mix the tuna, not to soupy. coat one side of bread with tuna, the other side with peanut butter. Mmmmm yummy. I've taken a lot of ribbing over the years for this but it is really good.
I always drain the tuna, add chopped up kosher dill pickles, chopped green (or white) onion and lots of dill - either fresh or dried. If you have any celery, I'd chop up a little of that too. Mix with mayo and salt and pepper to taste and there you go!
