Is Tuna steak a really strong tasting fish? Also, any good recipes for preparing the Tuna?

This is really good.

Balsamic-Glazed Tuna

Cooking spray

1 1/4 teaspoons coarsely ground black pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt

4 (6-ounce) tuna steaks (about 3/4 inch thick)

1/4 cup fat-free, less-sodium chicken broth

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

4 teaspoons dark brown sugar

1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce

1/2 teaspoon cornstarch

1/4 cup diagonally sliced green onions

Place a grill pan coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat until hot. Sprinkle pepper and salt over fish. Place fish in grill pan; cook 3 minutes on each side until medium-rare or desired degree of doneness. Remove from heat.

Combine broth, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, and cornstarch in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Spoon glaze over fish; top with green onions.

Yield: 4 servings (serving size: 1 steak and 1 tablespoon glaze)

GREAT!! Double up on the sauce, This was easy enough to make as a everyday meal yet appropriate for a special meal with company. Is Tuna steak a really strong tasting fish? Also, any good recipes for preparing the Tuna?
No. It tastes like TUNA! really, just like tuna in a can, it has the same flav because...it is TUNA! Actually it has a more meaty taste than a fishy taste.

I take a little olive oil, heat it in the pan (stovetop) and sear the tuna steaks on each side, then sprinkle with a little garlic, rosemary and pepper and cook until..done. (done means you can easily flake the fish meat, you'll know it when you see it).

Serve with some asparagus and whatever else your heart desires. Is Tuna steak a really strong tasting fish? Also, any good recipes for preparing the Tuna?
Tuna is awesome it is the file of the sea!!!!!!

Crust the steak with crushed black pepper, little salt, sesame seeds and sear on all sides, make sure you don't over cook it !!!!!!!!

finish off with a little soy sauce with ginger, scallions, garlic little honey, chili flakes and mustard all together make a great sauce with some mixed greens as a bed.

Enjoy!!!!
prepared rite no.I like baking with butter lemon pepper and spice pepper if you like it hot? wrap in foil oven 350 about 25 to 30 min with with garlic herb and butter rice!
No - It isn't anything like tuna in a can.

Broiling is good. Use some salt %26amp; lemon pepper.

Bon apetit!
It's a very firm flesh and is a lot like eating pork, personnally I love it. Try marinading it in Hoi Sin, searing in a hot pan and serving with brocolli and steamed rice.
I eat fish a few times a week, and mostly tuna. Tuna is not really a fishy smelling fish, or should not be. I have found the best way to prepare it is to get some Ahi Tuna steaks (bright red). About a quarter to half pound each, depending on your appetite. Marinate them for 15 min. right before cooking. Kikkoman Soy Sauce, salt %26amp; pepper to taste (black pepper corn, ground corse is best) small amount of dill and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Then bring a large frying pan to a blazing heat. Very hot with a tablespoon of oil to keep the fish from sticking. then toss each steak in and cook for 1 minute 15 sec. (About 30-40 seconds per side). This is if you like it rare, which i believe is the only way to serve Ahi tuna, which is sushi grade so not to worry about being rare. serve over garlic mashed potatoes. Makes a great meal. enjoy.
Mahi Mahi is the best tuna steak. Grill it in a lemon pepper rub for 4 minutes each side. make sure you do not over cook it.
