Tuna recipes? I have been craving tuna, but I can't find any fresh tuna at the local grocer?

I won't have time after work to go to the gourmet grocer.





Can you think of any classy recipes that contain canned tuna? Some sort of pasta maybe?Tuna recipes? I have been craving tuna, but I can't find any fresh tuna at the local grocer?

Best Tuna Casserole





1 (12 ounce) package egg noodles


1/4 cup chopped onion


2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese


1 cup frozen green peas


2 (6 ounce) cans tuna, drained


2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of mushroom soup


1/2 (4.5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms


1 cup crushed potato chips





Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook pasta in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente; drain.


Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).


In a large bowl, thoroughly mix noodles, onion, 1 cup cheese, peas, tuna, soup and mushrooms. Transfer to a 9x13 inch baking dish, and top with potato chip crumbs and remaining 1 cup cheese.


Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until cheese is bubbly

Pasta With Tuna Sauce





1 tablespoon olive oil


1 onion, chopped


2 cloves crushed garlic


1 tablespoon capers


1 (14.5 ounce) can crushed tomatoes


1 tablespoon lemon juice


1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley


1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes


2 (6 ounce) cans tuna, drained


1 (16 ounce) package dry pasta





In a large saute pan, heat oil over low heat. Add onion and garlic; cook and stir until onion is tender. Stir in capers, tomatoes, lemon juice, and parsley. Season with red pepper flakes to taste. Simmer gently for 3 minutes to thicken sauce. Fold in tuna, and heat through.


While sauce is cooking, add pasta to a large pot of rapidly boiling water; cook till just tender. Drain well.


Toss pasta with sauce, and serve.

i don't know about classy, but my tuna noodle recipe goes something like this:





8 oz pasta


1 can tuna


1 can mushroom soup


1/2 can milk


1 can or half a bag peas


salt, pepper, garlic, mustard


Velveeta cheese


saltines





make pasta according to package, drain, mix with other ingredients (besides cheese and crackers) put in casserole dish top with slices of Velveeta and a handful of crushed saltines, bake @ 350 for 30-45 minutes
CHEESY TUNA NOODLE CASSEROLE


1 (12 1/2 oz.) can chunk light tuna in water


1 pkg. frozen vegetables


1 (12 oz.) pkg. wide egg noodles


Season to taste


1 can cream of mushroom soup


1 1/2 c. milk


1 (8 oz.) container sour cream


1 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese


1 1/2 c. grated Mozzarella cheese


Cook and drain vegetables. Heat soup, milk, and sour cream. Blend until smooth. Cook and drain noodles. Mix all ingredients together with tuna and 3/4 cups each of Cheddar and Mozzarella cheese. Pour into 9 x 13 inch pan. Top with remaining cheese and bake in 350 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes.








Tuna Roll Ups


1 flat can of Tuna (drained and flaked)


录 cup chopped onion


陆 cup grated parmesan cheese


1.2 cup chopped celery


录 cup chopped pimento


2 tsp lemon juice


1 can (cream of celery or cream of mushroom soup)


2 Tblsp biscuit mix


Salt and pepper to taste


陆 cup milk


You can use your favorite pancake batter and make 10 5 inch pancakes. Keep warm between towels until ready to use. Heat oven to 400 %. Mix tuna, onion, 录 cup of the parmesan cheese, the celery, pimiento and lemon juice. Spoon w Tbls. of mixture onto each pancake. Roll and place seam side down in an oblong baking dish. Heat in oven about 10 minutes. Mix soup, biscuit mix, salt, pepper and milk. Cook and stir until it thickens. Pour over pancakes, sprinkle with remaining 录 cup parmesan cheese. Place back into oven for another 10 minutes or until bubbly.
